The Taxman Cometh – Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Quest

Background

You’ll trigger this quest in the market area of Oxenfurt in Velen North (#1) once you’ve accumulated at least 35,000 crowns.

Walkthrough

As you’re walking along, you’ll be stopped by a taxman named Walthemor Mitty. He’ll ask you three questions about your income:

• If you say yes to at least two of the questions, then Mitty will give you a Summons to Payment, which will require you to pay 1000 crowns at the Vivaldi Bank in Novigrad (#2). Until you make the payment, you won’t be able to use the bank for anything. Paying off your debt will earn you 150 xp.
  
• If you say no to at least two of the questions, then Mitty will give you a Taxpayer in Good Standing Diploma, suitable for framing. This achievement will earn you 50 xp, and you won’t have to pay anything.
