The Soldier Statuette – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 for the area of Novigrad. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

Background

During the quest A Dangerous Game, you’ll find a Jade Figurine in Caesar’s treasure room in Novigrad (#1). If Triss is still available in Novigrad, then picking up the figurine will trigger this quest. But if Triss is unavailable or has already left for Kovir (at the end of the quest Now or Never), then you won’t be able to trigger this quest until after you’ve completed the quest Blindingly Obvious, which won’t happen until late in the game.

Walkthrough

When you show the figurine to Triss — either at her apartment (#2) or at the Chameleon (#3) — she’ll recognize that a soldier was been “compressed” into the figurine, and she’ll take you to an out-of-the-way house (#4) where she can restore him in peace. When the soldier is back to his regular size, he’ll tell you that the last thing he remembers is a sorceress with “hair like flames” — aka Coral / Lytta Neyd — on a battlefield. After listening to the soldier’s story, Triss will send him to see Ambassador var Attre, and you’ll earn 10 xp for your efforts.
