The Secret Life of Count Romilly – Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Quest

1 – Arnskrone Castle Ruins

Background

When you approach the Arnskrone Castle Ruins in the Novigrad Far Outskirts (#1), you’ll encounter a level 37 ancient leshen (which is a relict). After defeating it, you’ll find a skeleton in front of the ruins. It’ll be in possession of a Tarnished Key and Count Romilly’s Journal (Part 2). Reading the journal will trigger the quest.

Walkthrough

The journal will mention that Count Romilly kept a lot of valuables in his castle treasury. You’ll find the treasury in what remains of the castle interior, which you can reach via the staircase in the broken tower in the southwestern corner of the castle grounds. Inside the treasury, you’ll discover a chest containing some random items. Looting the chest will complete the quest.

Note: In another part of the castle interior, you’ll encounter a trio of level 34 wraiths, so be prepared.
