The Royal Air Force – Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone DLC. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

Background

At the Vikk Watchtower in the Novigrad Far Outskirts (#1), you’ll encounter several level 34 erynias and harpies, and you’ll find a corpse near the western entrance. The corpse will have Nicolas Vogel’s Laboratory Notebook and a Chest Key in its possession. Reading the notebook will trigger the quest.

Walkthrough

The notebook will mention that there’s a “rainy day stash” at the top of the tower. When you climb your way there — using the rotting floors on the eastern side as “ramps” to assist your ascent — you’ll find a locked chest next to a harpy nest. The chest will contain a leveled version of New Moon Trousers, the diagram for Pyerog Runestone, and more. Looting the chest will complete the quest.

Note: You’ll need two Pyerog Runestones and one Tvarog Runestone to form the “Dumpling” runeword.
