Sunken Chest – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 for the area of Velen. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

Background

On a small island in Velen South you’ll find a corpse with some Blood-Smeared Notes (#1). Reading the notes will trigger this quest.

Walkthrough

From the notes you’ll learn that there’s a chest hidden in the submerged ruins to the east of the island. You’ll actually find a few chests there, including one with the diagram for Enhanced Wolven Armor, so you should swim with your witcher senses on so you don’t miss anything. You’ll encounter several drowners in the area, both on the island and swimming around in the ruins, so be prepared. You’ll complete the quest when you loot the chest containing a leveled version of the silver sword Deithwen (#2).
