Patrol Gone Missing – Witcher 3 Quest

Background

You’ll trigger this quest by reading the “Notice About Missing Soldiers” note on the notice board at the Nilfgaardian Army Group “Center” Camp in Velen East (#1).

Walkthrough

From the note, you’ll learn that a patrol of soldiers recently went missing. To find out more about them, you’ll need to talk to Quartermaster Eggebracht in the tent right next to the notice board. He’ll tell you that he sent several scouts out across the lake, but that they haven’t been seen since.

Across the lake, you’ll find the camp of the scouts (#2). When you turn on your witcher senses, you’ll discover evidence that the scouts left in a hurry and that they ran to the southwest. As you follow their tracks, you’ll find a poisoned corpse, and you’ll notice the scent of a draconid, which will give you a hint that you’re hunting a wyvern.

You’ll encounter the wyvern farther to the southwest (#3). When you kill it, you’ll find a Wyvern Trophy on its corpse. When you show the trophy to Eggebracht, you’ll earn your reward: 50 crowns and 10 xp.
