Walkthrough

After striking out with Triss, you’ll decide to ask a “dreamer” named Corinne Tilly if she can see anything about Ciri. You’ll find Corinne in the southern part of Novigrad. She’ll be in a house checking to see if it’s haunted. When you approach the house (#1), you’ll find its owner Rudolf de Jonkheer waiting out front. He’ll tell you that the spirits have been giggling, moving furniture around, and defecating in his parlor. Then when he sees that you’re a witcher, he’ll allow you to assist Corinne.

Inside the house, you’ll find Corinne dreaming in an upstairs bedroom. She’ll be talking to some sort of creature, but when you get close to it, it will disappear. Then when you try and rouse Corinne from her slumber, she’ll just talk about a doll in the attic, and she’ll continue dreaming. You’ll find the ladder leading to the attic in an adjacent room.

In the attic, you’ll discover some rickety shelves blocking access to one of the rooms. You can destroy the shelves using your weapon or the Aard sign. Inside the secret room, you’ll find two things of interest: a Drawing of a Crib and a Rag Doll. You’ll remember that there was a crib in one of the rooms next to the bedroom, so you’ll decide to place the Rag Doll there. When you do, the door to the room will close behind you, and you’ll find a Drawing of an Oven on it.

Next up, you’ll need to descend to the cellar and examine the oven there. When you do, you’ll meet the godling Sarah, who found the house empty and decided to make it appear haunted so everyone would leave her and the house alone. Unfortunately, you’ll learn that she’s also keeping Corinne locked into a nightmare, and that she doesn’t have any intention of letting her go.

You’ll have two ways to proceed:

  • You can work with Sarah. If you offer to lie to de Jonkheer and tell him that the house is haunted with no way of lifting the curse, then Sarah will release Corinne from her nightmare. Sarah will then continue to live and the house, and eventually Corinne will move in with her.
  • You can evict Sarah from the house. To do this, you’ll need to buy a Bundle of Burdock from an herbalist to the south (#2), place it in the oven, and ignite it with Igni. When you do, Sarah will leave, which will release Corinne from her nightmare. Sarah will then hook up with her fellow godling Johnny in Velen East.

When you talk to Corinne, she’ll agree to help you with Ciri, but she’ll tell you that her head is still “full of cobwebs,” and so she’ll invite you to meet her at the Golden Sturgeon. Then when you exit the house, de Jonkheer will ask you for an update. If you worked with Sarah, then no matter how you respond, de Jonkheer will decide to unload the house on somebody else, and it will remain “haunted.” But if you drove Sarah away, then de Jonkheer will promise you a reward at a later time, only he won’t ever give you anything.

When you meet with Corinne in her room upstairs at the Golden Sturgeon (#3), she’ll show you a dream of Dandelion, and you’ll take it to mean that Ciri must have met with him while she was in Novigrad. This will earn you 100 xp and complete the quest.
