Message from a Friend – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 for the area of Novigrad. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

You’ll receive this quest from Marcus T.K. Hodgson in Novigrad (#1).

Walkthrough

Marcus will tell you that a man left a book for you several years ago, but that he can’t remember where he put it in his shop. He’ll just let you know that the book has a red cover.

You’ll find several books that you can pick up in Marcus’ shop. The one you’ll need for the quest is called My Manifesto – The Life of Jacques de Aldesberg. You’ll find it on the second level of the shop next to the staircase. When you pick up the book, you’ll notice that it contains a Letter from “A,” which will warn you about the White Frost. Reading the letter will complete the quest and earn you 51 crowns and 50 xp.

Note: “A” is probably Jacques de Aldesberg, who was the main bad guy in the first Witcher game.
