1 – Seidhe Llygad Amphitheater

Background

At the Seidhe Llygad Amphitheater in Toussaint South (#1), you’ll discover the corpse of a woman. She’ll have a Perfume-Laced Journal and Vis la Crac Wine in her possession. Reading the journal will trigger the quest.

Walkthrough

From the journal, you’ll learn that the woman had been trying to recreate a scene when she died. So to find out what happened, you’ll need to recreate the scene as well. This will require you to do two things:

  • Light the candles in the correct order. To figure out the correct order, you’ll need to turn on your witcher senses and follow the woman’s footprints backwards from her corpse to the first candle. If you then follow the footprints forward, they’ll lead you to the candles in the correct order. If you light the candles in the wrong order, then at the end they’ll extinguish themselves, and you’ll have to start over.
  • Drink the wine you found on the woman.

With the scene recreated, a beann’shie called the Phantom of the Amphitheater will attack you. After defeating her, you’ll find an Ornate Necklace with a Key-Shaped Pendant on her remains. This will allow you to unlock a gate in the southern part of the amphitheater (behind a fallen column). In the room beyond, you’ll find a box filled with random items, plus a Dust-Covered Journal, which will explain how the phantom came to be there.

Note: If you light the candles in the correct order on your first try, then you’ll earn the Wisdom virtue for the quest There Can Be Only One.
