Blood Gold – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 for the area of Velen. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

Background

In Velen North you’ll discover the corpse of a man carrying a Bloodstained Document and a key (#1). Looting these items will trigger the quest.

Walkthrough

When you read the document, you’ll learn that the man hid some treasure nearby. If you turn on your witcher senses, then you’ll be able to follow the man’s trail to the northwest where you’ll find a locked treasure chest behind some barrels (#2). Once you’ve destroyed the barrels with your weapon or the Aard sign, you’ll be able to unlock the chest with the man’s key. Inside the chest you’ll find a leveled version of the steel sword Headhunter, plus some random items. Looting the chest will complete the quest.
