Abandoned Sawmill – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 on the Skellige Isles. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

You’ll trigger this quest when you approach the abandoned sawmill (#1) east of Blandare (#2) in Ard Skellig.

Walkthrough

When you search the sawmill, you’ll find four things of interest:

• Human bones (found in front of northern building).
  
• Letter from a Druid (found in western building).
  
• Lumberjack’s Letter to His Wife (found in chest in northern building).
  
• Sawmill Owner’s Notes (found in northern building).

The four items will indicate that something was sabotaging the sawmill at night, and that while some of the millers suspected druids, the druids themselves denied being involved. Once you’ve found all four items, you’ll discover the answer — a level 24 leshen, which will promptly attack you. When the leshen dies, you’ll earn 50 xp and complete the quest.
