A Surprise Inheritance – Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Quest

Background

On a hill in the southeastern part of the Novigrad Far Outskirts (#1), you’ll find the corpse of a man. He’ll have Knut Kreutzman’s Journal and a Completely Ordinary Key in his possession. Reading the journal will trigger the quest.

Walkthrough

The journal will mention that there is a treasure chest in a house to the northeast — but that the house is being guarded by a griffin. When you get to the house (#2), you’ll discover that the griffin is actually a level 39 archgriffin. After defeating the beast, you’ll find the locked treasure chest in the house’s cellar. The chest will have random contents. Looting the chest will complete the quest.
