A Dog’s Life – Witcher 3 Quest

This guide is a walkthrough of a side quest in the Witcher 3 for the area of Velen. The guide is composed of a map, map legend, and walkthrough to show readers exactly where to go and what to do to complete the quest.

Background

You’ll trigger this quest when you rescue a friendly dog from a pack of wolves in Velen West (#1).

Walkthrough

When you examine the dog, you’ll notice that it has a key around its neck. The dog will then start traveling down the road to the east. If you follow it, then it will lead you to a house in Drudge — where you’ll get attacked by three bandits (#2).

When you go into the house, you’ll earn 25 xp, and you’ll find a dead man on the floor with a hatchet in his back. If you then turn on your witcher senses, you’ll discover some loose floorboards with a locked container underneath. The dog’s key will allow you to open the container, and inside you’ll find some random loot, plus Druzus the Hermit’s Notes. Picking up the notes will complete the quest.

You won’t get a reward at the end of the quest, and when you exit the house the dog will be gone.
