Torchlight Xbox 360 Reviews

The Xbox 360 port of Torchlight continues to rack up favorable review scores, if a bit inconsistent. You’ll find that the text doesn’t change a whole lot, though.

RobotGeek gives it a perfect 5/5:

The Xbox Live version of Torchlight lacks some of the overall depth the original PC version provides, but what still remains is an equally enjoyable experience that both meets up to the original’s standards and rivals some of the best downloadable titles in Xbox Live Arcade history. Quite honestly, for anything some may feel the Xbox version lacks in comparison to the PC version, there’s an equal absence and filler for the opposite side of the fence. Torchlight for Xbox Live Arcade is a wonderful port of an already wonderful game, and fans both new and old would be remiss if they didn’t purchase this title, currently marked at 1200MSP, as soon as possible.

Reviews On Q gives it a 4/5:

Hours of fun, great story, sweet loot. This is the best 1200 Microsoft points I have ever spent. I Give it a 4 out of 5. Why? No Multiplayer. I’ll really be looking forward to TorchLight 2, which is scheduled to include some, and hopefully will be ready for my full five stars.

Unreality gives it a 3.5/5:

But that being said, for a mere $15, Torchlight is a hell of a game. It’s a masterful console port of a genre that you wouldn’t think could make that leap. It’s repetitive sure, but if leveling and loot drops is your thing, you can easily sink 10, 20, 30 hours into the title, which is far more than most $60 games you’ll find on the market these days. Avoid that evil bug I mentioned, and you’ll have a pretty good time with Torchlight.

PerezStart gives it an 8.5/10:

To be honest, I had no intention of purchasing Torchlight when it launched but was slightly intrigued to play it. After enjoying the demo I became hooked and highly recommend this game. There are only a few flaws I found throughout my playthrough but they can be overlooked. First there is no co-op which would have been awesome to join some friends but that’s something the sequel will fix. Second the frame rate does slow down a bit when there’s an overload of enemies and spells/effects on the screen. If you enjoyed Diablo or any type of dungeon crawler game, you’ll find this game right up your alley.

XboxAddict gives it an 82%:

Everything from spells being casted and swords clashing, to guns shooting wildly and bombs exploding combine with the music to produce one amazing auditory experience you have to ask yourself: “Is this game worth my money/Microsoft points?” The answer is undoubtedly yes. Rarely will we see an arcade game that can keep you playing for well over double the amount of hours as some retail titles. Rarer still to see an arcade game that can do all of this with such amazing quality and innovation. By offering up one of the best dungeon crawlers since Diablo, you already know that Torchlight is a must have for your arcade library.

And Games Cataclyst gives it a “B”:

The lack of multiplayer is perhaps a sore point in these days of connectivity (possibly to be remedied in the sequel), and bearing in mind the title’s more over-familiar elements I can’t quite award this charming title a top score. Nonetheless it is well deserving of your time and at this price represents excellent value for money.
