The Kinslayer’s Outfit (Iorveth) – Witcher 2 Quest

This guide helps players with a specific side quest of chapter 3 for Iorveth’s side in The Witcher 2. It has a map, legend, and walkthrough to show you exactly how to complete the quest.

Background

This armor set is attainable only while playing on Dark difficulty level in Chapter 3. Legend has it that this outfit was worn by one of the three brothers, who had a mission to recover the stolen treasure that a dragon named Ostreverg plundered from the temple of Freya. However it’s been cursed once the brother has slain his older brother for trying to capitalize on his fame (this second brother killed the dragon), hence the armor name (Kinslayer’s).

Walkthrough

The new armor introduced in the Dark mode offers a new ability – lifestealing. However, if you’re not wearing all the armor pieces, drawing the sword deals continuous damage to your health, eventually killing you if you’re not careful. Once you acquire all the pieces, you’ll get lifestealing, which easens up the combat difficulty.

To craft the armor set, visit Bras of Ban Ard, the mage blacksmith in the city. You’ll need to spend a lot of money and crafting ingredients, so you might wish to prepare for that. There are six items that comprise the whole armor set:

• Kinslayer’s Armor
• Kinslayer’s Boots
• Kinslayer’s Gauntlets
• Kinslayer’s Trousers
• Weeper
• Mourner

The total cost of diagrams is 6306 orens (Armor 3501, Boots 271, Gauntlets 301, Trousers 631, Weeper 801, Mourner 801). Money required to craft them equals 1625 coins (750 + 100 + 100 + 150 + 250 + 275, respectively).

As far as crafting components go you’ll need:

• Armor – 16x Hardened Leather, 2x Harpy Saliva, 6x Twine, 6x Harpy Feather, 18x Robust Cloth
• Boots – 4x Studded Leather, 6x Hardened Leather, 2x Robust Cloth, 4x Gargoyle Dust
• Gauntlets – 6x Hardened Leather, 4x Robust Cloth, 2x Twine, 2x Gargoyle Dust, 2x Harpy Feather
• Trousers – 4x Studded Leather, 1x Dragon Scales, 2x Robust Cloth, 4x Twine, 1x Troll Tongue
• Weeper – 2x Iron Ore, 14x Silver Ore, 2x Timber, 4x Elemental Stone, 2x Blue Meteorite Ore
• Mourner – 16x Iron Ore, 4x Leather, 2x Timber, 3x Gargoyle Dust, 2x Essence of Death

Once it all sums up, you’ll need 7931 orens, 8x Studded Leather, 28x Hardened Leather, 26x Robust Cloth, 4x Leather, 4x Timber, 12x Twine, 2x Harpy Saliva, 2x Essence of Death, 8x Harpy Feather, 9x Gargoyle Dust, 1x Dragon Scales, 1x Troll Tongue, 18x Iron Ore, 14x Silver ore, 4x Elemental Stone and 2x Blue Meteorite Ore.

Once you craft all the pieces, the quest completes, and you’ve got yourself the most powerful outfit in the dark mode difficulty!
