Background

This quest is available once you start the side quest The Scent of Incense. Townsfolk claim that the alchemist Vilmos Bartok is apparently making a hazardous incense.

Walkthrough

To start this quest, talk to the woman in black (#1), Matilda Szabo. She’ll say that the local alchemist, Vilmos Bartok (#2), sells an addictive incense that works just like fisstech. You can then investigate the matter by talking to Vilmos.

At first, he’ll appear defensive, saying that the incense is popular because it’s made of up of rare materials which cost him a fortune. You can then intimidate him into closing down the shop by threating to call Loredo and the guards, or you can use Axii to influence him to tell you about the incense some more and then persuade not to sell it again because he has no reason to poison his neighbors. Another option is to believe Vilmos that his incense is safe for use, which ends the quest.

Return to Matilda Szabo to complete the quest if you’ve closed down the shop. You’ll earn 20 orens. Also, Vilmos won’t be available anymore as a merchant.
