Hey, Work’s on in the Mines! – Witcher 2 Quest

Background

Having learnt that Vergen is plagued by rotfiends from the mining tunnel, Geralt decides to cull the threat and seal their passages to the mining areas. Before attempting the quest, make sure to have at least three grapeshot bombs. This quest is best done simultaneously with Subterranean Life.

Walkthrough

This quest is initiated while on another quest called Subterranean Life. Once you’re ready to head down into the mining shafts (#1), you’ll receive this quest to investigate what’s the source of monsters down there.

The first rotfiend tunnel is located at #2. Two rotfiends should be guarding it. With the use of grapeshot bomb you can seal the way and move onto the next one.

The second tunnel is located at #3. It also has several rotfiends in the room before it. Another grapeshot bomb and there’s only one tunnel to go.

The last tunnel is found at #4, behind the bullvore and immortelle bushes. After imploding that one, the only thing left to do is to collect a reward from Cecil Burdon.

Cecil (#5) is found at his home. It has two rooms so he might be in the other one if not in the first. You’ll get 50 orens for your efforts while Zoltan, Yarpen and Sheldon will get the same as well. Quest completed.
