Starfield Spaceship Customization Options So Far

During the gameplay reveal for Starfield in the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, it was shown that players will be able to build their own spaceship. These ships will be able to able to be flown around by the player, and will be used in combat as well. From what we can see in this showcase, there is going to be a large amount of customization in building your spaceship.

You can choose every single part of the ship, from the body to the thrusters, and assemble them in any way that you see fit. All of these parts will affect the way your ship performs in some way. Each part will have a certain amount of mass, and it’s likely that if you give your ship too many parts, it will get overloaded — we can see the number for Mass being red during the video, which probably means that the ship won’t perform well due to being too heavy.

Besides the Mass, there are many stats that you can customize with your various pieces, including:

• LAS
• BAL
• MSL
• Hull
• Shield
• Cargo
• Crew (mostly likely meaning the limit of crew members)
• Jump Range
• Mobility
• Top Speed

Some parts will require you to have the Starship Design Skill, so players who have learned this will have even more options in building their ship.

Once you fully assemble your spaceship the way you want, you can color it as well. Every piece can be colored individually, or you can color the whole ship at once. While picking the color, you could adjust the hue, saturation, and brightness of the color, allowing you to make your ship look just the way you want it.

Finally, you can hire a crew for your starship. It’s not clear where or how you will get these crew members, but they will likely help with the upkeep on your ship, with different members specializing in different parts of the ship.

Between all of these options for building a spaceship, and the deep character customization, it looks like players are going to have many ways of showing off their creativity and individuality during their playthrough.
