A Master Armorer Creates A Real Dragonborn Helmet

A master armorer creates a real Dragonborn helmet, and it’s even cooler than you think.

Baltimore Knife and Sword creates stage and combat weapons for film, Broadway, and renaissance festivals throughout the world. Recently, the company turned their attention to our beloved Skyrim, and crafted an honest-to-goodness real Dragonborn helmet. Ilya Alekseyev, Master Armourer and Engraver, demonstrates the involved process in a recent Man At Arms: Reforged video.

Dragonborn Helmet

Ilya’s Dragonborn helmet is crafted from hand-forged Damascus steel (a mix of metals that results in disincentive patterns). The helmet is complete with genuine ram’s horns and handmade rivets. The helmet’s creation is truly an involved process and the end result is breathtaking. Eorlund Gray-Mane couldn’t have done a better job.

Not only is the Dragonborn helmet a work of art, but it’s fully functional as well. Ilya shows how the helmet will stop a sword slash, arrow point, and even an overhead blow from a cheese wheel. This is the helmet I want if I ever have to go up against a Dragon! Check out the video below and see if you don’t disagree.
