Executive Actions Walkthrough

Background

Crowding into a corporate elevator on a shadowrun is risky. You’re exposed. Vulnerable. But time is of the essence, the CEO’s office is fifty floors up, and the Baron has your back — in theory.

Light, blanderized music flows softly from hidden speakers as you make your way up to James Telestrian’s office and towards your objective — a sample of Project Aegis.

You need to find the sample and get out before the Baron loses control of the Telestrian mainframe and all hell breaks loose.

Karma Points

  • [8]  Learn the location of the Aegis sample (#5).
  • [6]  Take control of the elevators (#6)

Walkthrough

When you exit the elevator (Exit A), you’ll find yourself on the top floor of the Telestrian office building. There won’t be any security guards around. In fact, nothing much will happen until you enter the CEO’s office and have your decker jack into the terminal there (#1). At this point, two groups of enemies (two guards from Exit A and then four guards from Exit B) will attack you. For best results, have your team hunker down behind cover in the office, buff them up with spells, cast Firewall or Barrier at the entrance points to the room, and keep overwatch on. You should be able to mow down the security forces quickly.

Note: Also be sure to have your decker jack into the terminal from the far side of the CEO’s desk so he’ll have medium cover.

The first things you’ll see in the matrix are Camera Nodes 1 and 2 (#2). Activating these nodes will connect you to the cameras by the elevators, which will show you when enemies are inbound. This will make it easier to prepare for their attacks. Also, since there will only be two attacks, there isn’t any reason to rush your decker through the matrix. You can proceed slowly and carefully, and if the decker “dies,” you can just heal him up and send him back in. Just be sure to keep activating the Suppression program as often as possible so you can avoid as much Black IC as possible.

You’ll need to do two things in the matrix:

  • Activate the Personal Correspondence Node (#5). This will reveal that the Aegis sample is located in the office of Erik Silverstar, Telestrian’s Director of Security. Learning this information will earn you 8 karma points.
  • Activate the Elevator Control Node (#6). This will earn you 6 karma points.

When you’re done in the matrix, you’ll need to head over to Silverstar’s office (#7). However, when you get there, you’ll discover that Silverstar just had a security panel added to his door, which will flummox Baron Samedi and prevent you from getting inside. But luckily, Samedi will come up with a plan — only it’ll require you to stay in the building alone while the rest of your team goes home. This is where the mission will end.
