Risen Reviews

Two more reviews for the Xbox 360 version of Piranha Bytes’ Risen have popped up on the web, though their conclusions couldn’t be much more different from one another.

SFX360 arrives at an 8.0/10:

In the end Risen is just an amazing experience to be had. I know you weren’t expecting much from this game, neither was I, but I was pleasantly surprised by the result. Though it ultimately doesn’t really do anything too new, it manages to bring together so many good things that it creates a package that is not only solid but very enjoyable. If you have ever gotten entranced by games like RuneScape then there is a lot in Risen that was made to cater to fans like you. But ultimately if you are an RPG fan that enjoys games like Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, and Fable, then Risen is a great addition to your collection that will give you many hours of enjoyment. If you own a PC or an Xbox 360 and you are looking for a good RPG then look no further Risen is here to bring a great narrative and great gameplay to you.

While MTV Multiplayer finds nothing but mediocrity:

It would have been nice to stay in “Risen” when I was drawn in, but all the bad design choices, from the leveling to the UI to the quests (coupled with the technical issues) obliterated my ability to be entertained. This is a bad port of an unpolished game that doesn’t cater to the user in any respect. Stay away.
