Risen Now Available on Xbox 360

I believe the Xbox 360 version of Risen was technically available earlier this week, but SouthPeak Games just fired over a press release officially announcing its availability in North America.

DEEP SILVER’S RISEN® FOR XBOX 360 HITS RETAIL SHELVES IN NORTH AMERICA

HERMOSA BEACH, CA – February 25, 2010 Deep Silver, the games label of Koch Media, a worldwide producer and distributor of digital entertainment products, announced today that RISEN® is now available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in North America.

RISEN is an epic, 60+ hour classic fantasy RPG in which players must make crucial choices along their quest to aid in humanity’s struggle for survival. After humanity banished the gods from the world, ancient beings were unwittingly released, bent on unleashing chaos and destruction upon mankind. In RISEN, players craft unique gameplay experiences by deciding which faction of resistance to ally themselves with, which style of character development to pursue, and what type of interactions they have with the world’s diverse array of characters. Each decision the player makes, no matter how large or small, will come into play further into their journeys and influence the way in which they experience the game’s main storyline.

RISEN features a unique, seamless, open-world environment in which players can enjoy free-roaming gameplay without interruption by instances. During their journeys, players will encounter refreshingly unique and clever side-quests which tie into the main storyline, hand-designed temples and ruins, and the ability to replay the game and experience the story from a completely different perspective. RISEN was previously released in October 2009 on the Windows PC platform to positive critical reception, including an 8.5/10 review score from Game Informer and nominations in several Game of the Year awards categories from online gaming communities.

(We are thrilled to share the deep RISEN experience with Xbox 360 gamers in North America,) said Jon Schutts, Senior Producer at Deep Silver, Inc. (With the combination of immersive gameplay, positive reception of last fall’s Windows PC release and a newly optimized game experience on Xbox 360, we are positive that roleplaying fans will find RISEN to be a favorite among their RPG collection.)

RISEN, developed by Piranha Bytes, is available now at retail stores across North America for $49.99 and is rated M for Mature by the ESRB. For more information on Risen, please visit http://risen.deepsilver.com.
