Rapture Rejects PC Review

6/10

Rapture Rejects is still a new way to play BR and in a genre that is getting new titles everyday. This top-down BR gives you a reason to go back and play to uncover new quotes from the animation comics of Cyanide & Happiness and with the games fast-paced gameplay allowing you to finish matches in under 15 minutes of gameplay. The close quarters maps in the end game with fire and lava pushing everyone together to find the last man standing will leave you hungry for more.

Rapture Rejects a new Battle Royale game made by the creatures that bring us amazing cartoon animations, Cyanide & Happiness. TinyBuild, Galvanic Games, and Explosm introduce a new way to play Battle Royale in this Top Down isometric last man standing game. Defeat your foes by becoming the god that the universe of Cyanide & Happiness has been looking for all this time. Spawn in the world with just the clothes on your back (Or whatever you choose to wear), while you scavenge the world for weapons to kill every other person on Earth, to impress the gods to take you to the next world. Try your luck in this funny, cartoony Battle Royale that will put you in your place to battle for the right to be a god and rapture the world of all the rejects.

Rapture Rejects is all about having fun in your favorite cartoon world of Cyanide & Happiness. Just like in any Battle Royale, your goal is to scavenge resources around the world to fight off anyone or anything that comes in your way. In the battlegrounds of Rapture Rejects, you’ll come across the good, the bad and the evil while exploring the land around you. Meet the gods of the Rejects while traveling around the world to unlock new looks and find new items to use to fight against the enemies that linger around the world.

Although there aren’t a whole lot of players currently in the game, you can still have fun during your mission to become the last man standing. Overcome your fear of death by picking the path you want to follow during your battles with the creatures around the world and in Cyanide & Happiness. Jump on the adventure of a lifetime to find your place in this Battle Royale adventure game.

Gameplay

With Rapturing the world in your mindset. Rapture Rejects at this time doesn’t stand out to its brothers in the genre. During most of your matches, you might find yourself finding more resources than actual enemies. That’s because of the playstyle the developers want the game to feel. With the game not being Free-To-Play at this time, and at a high price range for the genre, Rapture Rejects gameplay can feel a bit lonely when scavenging the lands around.

If you can get into a game at the time of this review, you’ll find yourself enjoying the new way this BR has to offer with its top-down gameplay. The ways you can hide from your enemy in bushes and behind trees, but playing Hide and Seek from your enemy might not be so fun when nobody is looking for you. At the end though, the new way of gameplay that Rapture Rejects brings to this overencumbered gaming genre will bring you in to look for more and keep your guys looking around at all times.

Graphics

With the funny comedy look that Cyanide & Happiness brings us with their cartoon animations. Rapture Rejects doesn’t disappoint with its easy-look graphics and the massive list of character customization that you have to choose from with funny clothes and different hairstyles, displaying the dark humor comedy that Cyanide & Happiness brings us.

While searching around the battlefield to stay alive, you have to take a second look at the environment around you. With the new playstyle, the developers at Galvanic Games and Explosm want to show us in this BR; they came through with the type of end-of-the-world theme that Cyanide & Happiness presents. If you enjoy some dark looking humor and the kind of cartoony look these devs know and love, you will love the experimental look that Rapture Rejects has to offer.

Sound

Like in any BR game, the sound is key to listening for your enemy and trying to sneak around to win it all. That isn’t the case in this BR game. With a tremendous Top-Down view on your side, there isn’t a real need to hear your surroundings. While scavenging around to find loot, you can listen to and see outside to make sure no one is coming around and trying to find your foes hiding in bushes around will come down to just sneaking around each one with funny quotes and noises that will come out of the world and your enemies. The funny, dark humor that Cyanide & Happiness brings us shows up during each match in this BR to give you an edge to keep moving forward. With the main combat noises like gunshots and hit shots not being key in this Battle Royale, you will still have fun with the little things that will linger in your ear during each match.

Replayability

With replayability being key in any Battle Royale. Rapture Rejects doesn’t 100% come through when you can’t even get into a match at times because of the low player count at this time. With the community pleading for Free-To-Play, and the developers trying their best to send out updates to help their case in giving the game more content and fixes to live up to the games price tag.
