ICARUS Review — Mission-Driven Sandbox Survival

ICARUS may have debuted as a bill of goods, but it is shaping up to be an exciting survival sandbox experience. A rich RPG customization system intersects with a bevy of game modes to provide gamers with a variety of building and adventuring experiences. Consistent updates and optimizations show that ICARUS the Game completes its mission and doesn't get left stranded on Icarus the Planet.

Infernax Review – Demonically Delightful NEStalgia

This 2D, NES-era-inspired action platformer features rock-solid gameplay and an excellent progression system. While it definitely isn't for everyone, it's not trying to be for everyone, it's trying to be for people who like demon fetuses, platforming, and pixel art -- and it's succeeding.

Expeditions: Rome Review

The third iteration of the Expeditions series, Expeditions: Rome is fairly light on exploration, moving things towards a more traditional RPG experience while still offering plenty of challenging turn-based battles.

Sands of Salzaar Review

A unique experience that doesn't hold your hand, Sands of Salzaar can best be described as Mount & Blade meets Dynasty Warriors. And that alone is reason enough to give it a shot even despite some assorted shortcomings.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl Review – Well-Polished Gems

Well-polished remakes of games from a different time in the Pokemon franchise and a faithful recreation of the originals that draws out their best aspects, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl offers a satisfying difficulty curve, especially during the Elite 4 fights. However, some bizarre decisions to bring back previously removed features add a touch of tedium into the mix.

Chorus Review – Gameplay and Narrative in Harmony

Despite a handful of missteps, Chorus is a bold entry in the space combat genre, and introduces mechanics other games would do well to imitate. Polished and fun, Chorus manages to offer a lot without ever overreaching, and tells a compelling story while doing so.

Len’s Island Early Access Review – Fun While Farming or Fighting

While it's a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none, Len's Island succeeds both as a dungeon-crawler and as a chilled-out house builder. It's an Early Access game for sure, but if it looks like something you'd be interested in, there's plenty here to justify picking it up on release.

Disciples: Liberation Review

Disciples: Liberation is what you get when you take an atmospheric dark fantasy series and for some reason decide to give it The Three Stooges treatment. Combine that with sluggish and repetitive battles, and it becomes really hard to appreciate the good ideas buried underneath it all.

Date Night Bowling Review

If you're looking for a quick arcade bowling experience with someone, Date Night Bowling will give you a relaxing and fun time. However, don't expect to learn much about the characters and how they get along. The game has a great pixelated look and music to go along with it, but it has almost no replay value outside of seeing the dialogue with each character pairing.
