Outward PC Review

7/10

With replayability playing a vital role in any RPG game nowadays, the developers over at Nine Dot Studio got it right when it comes to making sure the user going on their adventure doesn’t have an instant end game. With a variety of weapons and places to go and people to see, Outward will leave you wanting to explore the outer walls more and more to find new things. Although I haven’t personally played with others in this game as of yet, there are many features you can use to make sure you and your friends and family have the best time competing who will explore more in Outward.

Outward is an open world Real-Time-Strategy (RPG) game by the developers over at Nine Dot Studio. You can choose to play alone or with friends, either online or in split-screen. In this adventure game, you’ll find yourself wanting to take a look around every building and talk to whoever you can to make sure you get the full experience and don’t miss anything. Outward has everything a perfect RPG will offer, such as exploring a real open world and also having an in-depth story to make sure it draws the user to come back for more. Explore the outer walls today in Outward.

Storyline

Your adventure in Outward starts with a small background story and then throws you into the action right away after you and your crew on a ship goes wrong. You wake up on the beach to explore what might have gone wrong. After finding some of your crewmates, you face the town people that wanna know what happened. Although the beginning game of Outward can seem a little dry at first, the developers over at Nine Dot Studio make sure everything is interactable so the user can feel as though they’re in the world of this RPG.

Throughout your adventures in Outward, you’ll find that there are new adventures around every corner with no end in sight when it comes to gameplay. Go outside the walls if you dare, but be warned that what is behind the walls might change the way you look at the outer future forever.

Gameplay

Outward has no bare bottom when it comes to gameplay. While being a Real-Time-Strategy (RPG) game there might be talk about these type of games getting repetitive, but Outward gives off just the right amount of content when it comes to giving the user a good experience in all traits. With a list of weapons to choose from and new spells to cast during every new quest, you’ll find yourself wanting more when it comes to combat against enemies.

With combat gameplay being a vital role in an RPG game like Outward, slashing through your foes on your adventures might seem a bit easy at times. As long as you make sure to explore the world of Outward and what might be behind the walls of the city, you’ll find yourself wanting more the next time you play.

Graphics

The view of the horizon in Outward may seem short, but with the looks of an old-time RPG game mixed with a modern style medieval genre style, Outward has in-depth graphics that will leave you looking at everything you can during your adventures in the game. With just about every building being interactable, the developers have put some in-depth details into everything in the world of Outward. While animations can seem the same in some situations, the look and movements of the mana spells have you wanting to look for new ones during your adventures throughout the game.
