WRC8 Racing Across All Formats This September

WRC 8, the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship, will be released across all major consoles. PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC this September. To get you all salivating just that little bit more, they’ve released a brand-new video that shows you more information on the revamped career mode.

WRC is the most authentic and full WRC racing game every created. There’s new off-road physics for every surface. Career mode has been completely redesigned, there are extreme and dynamic weather conditions. All that, spread across a game with 52 teams, 14 countries, over 100 special stages, weekly challenges and an eSports mode.

So, what is this Career Mode?

The career mode is often the most played, of all the WRC game modes, and the development guys and gals wanted to make sure that they designed content that the fans wanted.

The new career mode mimics, as close as possible to the real-world experience of becoming a professional rally car driver. You need to progress as you race through the various WRC seasons to ultimately become the world champion. You need to progress in three different areas.

  • Plan your time effectively. What events do you do between rallies? Do you train, perform manufacturer challenges, compete in classic events or simply put your feet up and relax?
  • Manage your crew that comprises of 6 different and related jobs. You’ll need to think about each role individually, consider your unique characteristics and use them well.
  • Research and develop upgrades for your team, using R&D and their own skill trees, that evolve based on your choices. Every decision you make can impact your teams progression, and their morale.

Your rally’s stats available at the end of each race, will give you all the information you need to compare against your competitors and adjust your tactics, in order to climb the rankings, upgrade your car and recruit the right people.
