World of Warcraft Previews

Both GameSpy and IGN are on top of things today, with each posting a preview of Blizzard’s recently announced MMORPG, World of Warcraft. Here’s a taste of the preview at GameSpy:

The addition of new territories will not just be for the release of World of Warcraft but will be a constant process as a full time team will continue to add new quests and lands to the World of Warcraft universe throughout its lifetime. This will ensure that there will always be a new world to explore, a new quest to complete, or a new foe to defeat.

And an excerpt from IGN’s preview:

Your character portrait resides in the upper left-hand along with a health and mana/endurance bar that you can scroll over with the mouse to see the exact number totals of how much of each you have left. There’s a mini-map in the upper right-hand corner that will display waypoints of note, as well as day/night cycle information. The lower left-hand corner is your action area, where you can set-up a number of quick icons for your most frequent actions, such as your favorite spells, and you can access both your character inventory and items stored in your backpack from the icons in the lower right-hand corner. The largest area of the interface, located in the bottom center of your screen, is saved for the chat window.
