Vampyr and Call of Cthulhu Approximate Release Dates

Thanks to some digging done by the folks at WCCFTech, we now know that upcoming Focus Home Interactive RPGs, Vampyr and Call of Cthulhu, have both received tentative release dates in Q4, 2017.

Whether these dates hold or not, it is curious to see how such a close release schedule of two somewhat thematically close games will treat Focus Home Interactive and their respective developers.

In case you needed a refresher on what these games are, here’s an excerpt from the WCCFTech article:

Vampyr is being developed by French team Dontnod Entertainment, previously known for Remember Me and Life is Strange. It’s an Action RPG set in London’s early 20th century, right in the middle of the Spanish flu outbreak.

As suggested by the game’s title, players will take the role of a doctor that’s recently been turned into a vampire. This is by far Vampyr’s most interesting trait, with Dontnod trying to showcase the dual nature of protagonist Jonathan Reid: on one hand, the doctor with an impulse to help and heal; on the other hand, a vicious killer that needs blood to sustain himself.

Call of Cthulhu is being developed by another French team, Cyanide, which you might know for Blood Bowl, Styx and the freshly announced Werewolf: The Apocalypse. […]

Protagonist Edward Pierce is a private detective who has been sent on a mission to Darkwater Island, Boston. He will have to discover the truth behind the death of an acclaimed artist and her family. As customary for a game called Call of Cthulhu, the developers already prefaced that gamers will eventually doubt everything they see as they get closer to the truth and will have to mind their own sanity.
