Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption Mods

Normally this is not something we here at Gamebanshee do but I have recently tried two mods for VtM:R and have written a review of them both.

Now these mods are only for multiplayer they will not work for the single player game.

The first one is called the World of Darkness mod. It’s purpose is to try and bring more of the PnP elements of the Vampire: The Masquerade into VtM:R. I must say I was quite impressed with the addons and changes they have made. It pretty much brings all of the PnP clans into the game. So for those who wished that you could play a Lasombra, well now you can with all the powers that go with it. They have also updated and refined the powers that other clans possess bringing them more inline with the PnP rules. It also contains some new skins, maps, armor, and weapons. They are also working on conversions/additions which will allow you to incorporate the rules/powers for Mage, Werewolf, Changling, and Wraith. If you are familiar with the PnP games from White Wolf then these name are known to you. If you are not them you can go here and learn more about them.

The next one is called Within the Darkness, now this one is quite different than the first one. It greatly expands upon the games concepts. It is still only for multiplayer. It contains over 67 clans, 207 disciplines and new maps, weapons, armor, and skins. Now they mainly deal with three types of characters in this mod: Vampires, Ghouls(servants of Vampires but not vampires themselves), and Humans. They have added Werewolves in the recent build but nothing beyond that as of yet.

Now both are about a 30 meg download but if you are a Vampire fan like many of us here at Gamebanshee, you will greatly enjoy either mod as they will add a great deal more enjoyment for you and your friends in this already great game.

For more info on either mod you can go toWithin the Darkness or to World of Darkness. Try them out you just may be surprised.
