TORN First Look

RPGPlanet has a first look of Black Isle’s upcoming RPG TORN posted up, giving a good rundown of what the game is going to encompass and how it differs from other RPGs:


    Another big change is that while Fallout was turn-based, TORN will be real-time. This changes the combat system and they decided to “change it from sort of a miss-based system to a hit-based system. So a miss-based system would be like D&D, you know how you miss, miss, miss, and then do a bunch of damage, and the fight can turn on the drop of a hat, one hit can change everything. There is a certain amount of tension there, put that doesn’t work for what we are trying to do here. We use more of a hit-based system where basically you hit more often and do a fairly constant amount of damage.
