Top Ten Role-Playing Games of All Time

eToyChest is running a new feature in which they’re detailing the top ten role-playing games of all time. They’ve only revealed #10 and #9 so far, which are Wasteland and Quest For Glory II, respectively. Here’s a bit of what they had to say about Sierra’ classic:

It needs to be said that in the late 80’s and early 90’s Sierra was enjoying the reputation as being one of the premier, if not the best and most respected developer/publisher in the computer video game business. In 1990 they released the sequel to ‘So You Want To Be A Hero’, and what resulted was not only the best game in the series, but also a role-playing adventure that still stands as one of the greatest of all time. Taking the tried and true adventure game formula and casting it in a role playing mold, complete with combat and character stats, the Quest for Glory series was obviously quite an experimental venture for the established company. Still, with the huge success of the first game, a follow up was hardly a leap of faith.
