Tiny Wars Tower Defense Indie Shout Out

Being an avid public transport user I am no stranger to tower defence games, they are one of the staples of mobile gaming after all. So when I came across Tiny Wars by Bizurk Software I figured that I knew the score. These games are all really easy so I would have no trouble getting in and effortlessly playing this game.

Well, I was wrong. Tiny Wars a PC anime themed Tower defense game is hard. Even at the very start of the game, the mobs which tend to be giant insects or creatures easily get passed your defenses. Bearing in mind your defences are cute, anime girls this means the mobs are either fiercely determined or aren’t swayed by their cuteness. Thinking about it, maybe most insects and creatures don’t really understand cute.

Anyway, the trick to beating Tiny Wars is no different from beating any tower defense game, it’s all about the placement of your defences.  It’s just that in Tiny Wars you’re punished a little more for a bad decision, and even then it still took me ages to get past the third wave of this stage. Part of this is because the level I’m playing is going to be further on in the game when it’s released but they’re planning on it being tricky anyway, so it might not get much easier.

The Tiny Wars prototype does not represent the full quality of the final game of course, they’re still putting huge amounts of work into it before its final release. It does however give you a damn good idea of how the devs aren’t happy to throw out an easy tower defense game they want it to be challenge and therefore rewarding. This prototype is basically a technical exhibit meant to give you a taste of what’s to come. They’re also taking all your feedback on board so you can help to shape the game yourself by leaving feedback on the game’s Facebook page

If you’re keen and eager to get your hands on Tiny Wars but hate waiting for release dates? Well, fear not because you can download the prototype on both Windows and Android now from their official site. Why not give it a try and let us know what you think in the comments.
