The Witcher: Versus Expands, Ties in With The Witcher 2

The guys at Gamigo sent over a press release this morning announcing plans to expand The Witcher: Versus with new content, while also bringing the game to Facebook in addition to its browser and iDevice platforms. The ability to unlock items for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is incoming, as well, which could be exactly what the game needs to generate more interest. gamigo announces The Witcher: Versus for Europe and North America

Hamburg, 9th April 2010 – Hundreds of thousands of players in Eastern Europe are already competing in exciting duels in the dark world of The Witcher. gamigo and the Witcher experts at one2tribe now present a version of the game, The Witcher: Versus, that is playable not only in your web browser, but also soon on Facebook and iPhone. In celebration of the global release (minus Eastern Europe) of the browser-based English and German games, gamigo is announcing some brand new features. Players can now unlock items for the highly anticipated upcoming role-playing game from CD Projekt RED, The Witcher 2!

The Witcher: Versus is based on the fascinating concept of action-packed strategic combat in a familiar RPG setting. A number of new features have been introduced, such as the chance for guilds to conquer fortresses. New towns and travel routes have also been added, as well as dozens of quests about guilds and castle warfare. Players can also learn more about the fascinating world of The Witcher in story quests. Players can enter the fray of battle as a Witcher, a Sorceress, or a Frightener and put the wealth of skills that each class of character comes equipped with to good use. Once they have reached a certain level, players can leave the keep, Kaer Morhen, and set out in search of new and dangerous realms, where more powerful opponents await. Players can access more regions of the gameworld with as their experience increases.
