The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Interview

While I’m forced to point you to a Google Translate version of the interview, it’s worth your time to check out the new Q&A with Tomasz Gop on Eurogamer.cz to learn more about how save game importing will work in The Witcher 2 and how the team’s goal is to release “a full-blown expansion” rather than DLC.

What changes can players expect to play after you import your saved positions from number one? Can you give us some examples? How different will Witcher 2 importing juice, and without it?

Specific examples, of course, I can give you, because you do not want to spoil the game spoilers. But can you believe that a lot of different things just depending on whether you import your saved game or start a new character. The Witcher 2 is designed to provide a complete RPG experience to each player, so it is not necessary to play the previous game. But we also wanted to give bonuses to our fans what it lost, and therefore the import of juice, reflected not only in developing the story, but also how the game is over.

What is most likely the following three options – traditional expansion pack, which will continue the story, self-contained modules, the DLC or expansion of existing game content?

We considered all these possibilities. Naturally we would like to like to go into full-blown expansion, which would provide our players with a few more hours of gameplay. But at the moment, our main goal is to keep the second Witcher 17th May tuned and in top form. Therefore, it is currently too early to talk in detail about things that are still only at the planning stage and therefore may change.
