Strictly Limited Games to Release Exclusive Physical Copies

Do you find collecting downloadable games a bit hollow? Do you hoard physical copies of video games, filling shelf upon shelf of all your favourite games across all your consoles? Well, you’re going to love Strictly Limited Games who are releasing exclusive physical copies of a variety games across PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch.

Strictly Limited are still fairly new but word is getting round and they are definitely something that video game collectors should keep an eye out for.

  • Their 2600 run of Tokyo 42 for the PS4 has only 10% left, so if you want to get your hands on a copy you can get one for $35.78
  • Umihara Kawase is due for re-release under the name ”Sayonara UmiharaKawase ++”
  • We are also starting to hear mutterings of a game designed by the creator of the Wonder Boy series, more news on that when we have it.

Up and Coming Video Game Publisher Strictly Limited Games to Release Curated Selection of Exclusive Collectible Physical Versions of PS4, PS Vita and Switch Titles

Handpicked video games from critically acclaimed publishers to live a physical second life for the joy of Playstation and Nintendo fans

Strictly Limited Games, a German publisher specialized in the production of limited physical editions of digital download-only Indie- and AA-Games, announced today that their first and current release, Mode 7’s Tokyo 42 for the PS4 has sold through 90% of its initial run of 2600 copies. Tokyo 42’s collectible edition can be purchased through Strictly Limited Web site for $35.78.

Strictly Limited Games’ founders Dennis Mendel and Benedict Braitsch, are poised to share that they are planning to publish one title per month. The exact print number of every release will be disclosed openly and there will be no reprints. The overarching objective of Strictly Limited Games is to help establish a stronger identity for games as an art form, and delivering a consumer goods experience to video game collectors. In order to emphasize the high quality creative output of the video game Independent developers community, Strictly Limited Games are also offering art prints and/or soundtracks depending on the games.

Recently added to the release schedule is PS Vita Japanese cult video game Umihara Kawase, published this time around in a completely new version. This new release will be entitled “Sayonara UmiharaKawase ++”. Strictly Limited Games is excited to disclose that they will be publishing Sayonara UmiharaKawase ++ in both digital and physical forms.

Changing the rules of limited edition publishing, Strictly Limited Games also invested in another unannounced game, designed by Ryuichi Nishizawa, creator of the Wonder Boy series which is going to please fans and nostalgics of the 90s era. This title has never been published before and has been classified by video game enthusiasts as lost forever after its release was cancelled.
