Stats in Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Stats in KC:D function much like they do in other RPGs. They serve as the basis for how good your main character is at virtually everything they do. There are two types of Stats: (1) Primary Stats and (2) Derivative Stats

Primary Stats

Primary stats are what most players will recognize right off the bat. Like most RPGs, these stats impact almost everything Henry does and make him a better, stronger, and more persuasive protagonist. Your individual stats increase as Henry uses them – just like in Oblivion. Kind of like in real life. The more weights you lift the stronger you get. As a Primary Stats increases you gain perk points to spend on perks that will help Henry develop unique attributes related to that stat.

stats

Agility

Agility determines how nimble, fast, and evasive Henry is. Having a higher agility stat allows you to dodge easier, be more skilled at archery, and provides access to finesse weapons like sabers.

You can increase Henry’s agility using archery. Agility gains perk points every fourth level.

Speech

Speech determines how well Henry can talk his way in, and out, of various situations. The higher your speech level the more options Henry will have in conversations and the more likely he will be successful in persuasion, haggling, and deescalation.

You can level up Henry’s Speech by talking to people. You gain Speech perk points at every fourth level.

Strength

Strength determines how capable Henry is at performing physical feats. As his strength increases, the more powerful Henry’s attacks physical weapons will be. In addition, it will reduce the amount of Stamina it takes to wield heavy weapons. Outside of combat Strength will increase the capacity of your inventory and make Henry be able to run faster when carrying a heavier load.

Strength can be increased by engaging in physical combat. You gain Strength perks every other level up.

Vitality

Vitality determines how much Henry can endure. Vitality is directly linked to Stamina. The more Vitality Henry has the more stamina he has and the quicker it regenerates.

Vitality can be increased by running and surviving combat. You gain Vitality perks every third level.

Derivative Stats

Unlike primary stats, derivative stats in KC:D are stats that derive their value based on a variety of factors. As they are not based on a standard XP system they are ever-changing and can go up or down.

Charisma

Charisma determines how impressive Henry is. Contrary to popular belief, Henry’s Charisma is based not on his Speech but purely on how good he looks. Your Charisma is influenced by two factors: (1) the average value of all currently equipped pieces of clothing and (2) how clean, or dirty, Henry’s clothes are.  Keeping your armor polished and getting the bloodstains out of your cloak will go a long way to keeping up your Charisma.

Conspicuousness

Conspicuousness determines how much Henry stands out in a crowd. The higher your Conspicuousness the more likely people will notice you. Wearing bright, weird, or unusual clothing will have a direct impact on how Conspicuous Henry is. The higher the stat the harder it will be for Henry to sneak effectively.

Noise

Noise determines how loud Henry is when he moves. A higher Noise level means that Henry is more likely to be noticed by NPCs as he moves. Noise is determined by the various pieces of armor and weapons that are currently equipped. In situations that require stealth, removing your full plate mail in favor of a sleek leather outfit will go a long way to go unheard.

Speed

Speed determines how fast Henry can run and sprint. Your Speed is influenced by 3 factors: (1) your Agility stat, (2) inventory weight, and (3) the gear Henry currently has equipped.

Visibility

Visibility determines how easy it is to see Henry. The higher your visibility the easier it will be for NPC’s to notice you and the harder it will be to sneak. Visibility is determined by the average visibility value of each item of clothing Henry has equipped.

Where to Find Items that Increase Your Stats

In Kingdom Come Deliverance the only items that will provide a permanent boost to Henry’s stats are the Skill Book series tailored to each stat. These books range from readily available to hard to obtain. Each successive book in a series has a higher level prerequisite, longer length, and a steeper price.

I have been playing video games for basically my entire life. One of my earliest memories is asking my mom to grind my Pokemon in Pokemon Yellow so I could skip straight to the gym leaders. Those early experiences led to a lifelong hobby and love of gaming. Strategy, 4X, and RPGs have been favorite genres for years. However, you can occasionally find me playing League, FIFA, or NCAA Football 14. When I am not in front of my laptop, you can find me hiking, playing with my dog, or reading.
