Scott Blinn Leaves Artifact Entertainment

Scott “Skarz” Blinn, the producer for the upcoming MMORPG, Horizons, has left Artifact Entertainment for “personal reasons”. In light of this news, Voodoo Extreme has conducted a little Q&A session with Scott to find out what it’s like to work on a massive game like Horizons, and to try and figure out what provoked his decision to leave:

Voodoo Extreme — Now that you’re out of the MMOG dev. scene (well, at least for now) what are your thoughts on some of the upcoming ones like Star Wars Galaxies, PlanetSide, Dark Age of Camelot, Neocron and Shadowbane?

Scott “Skarz” Blinn — Well, up until recently I have been thinking of all these games as competition. 🙂 They all have strong points and weak points. Hmmm, this answer is getting to sound to politically correct (and we all know how I hate politics). Let’s start over…

As a gamer I am really looking forward to PlanetSide. The game is looking great and the concept sounds like a blast. I haven’t had a long stretch of sniping someone at a 1000 yards since my Unreal Tournament, crack-addicted days- I’m looking forward to doing it again.
