Ray Muzyka Interview Teaser

IncGamers has kicked up several paragraphs from an interview with BioWare’s Ray Muzyka that they’ll be publishing in the coming days. On the topic of single player vs. massively multiplayer RPGs:

“I think the future of single-player games is quite bright, but the online extension of those games is also something that’s going to be very likely,” said Muzyka.

“Maybe you can consider the world where there’s massively multiplayer games, there’s also maybe massively single-player games, where you have the game as a platform where you’re launching a lot of post-release downloadable content, or user-generated content tools, or links to a social website.”

Muzyka used Dragon Age: Origins as an example of how to integrate these elements into a single player game, stressing that there are ways to engage with a community outside of traditional multiplayer gaming.
