We told you a few weeks ago about a classic “Metroidvania” style game, developed by Julian Laufer and published by HeadUp, called Outbuddies. Plunge into the watery depths of Bahlam, a sunken ancient city of the Old Gods, filled with lethal creatures and deadly challenges. Well, time flies and it’s due for release on Steam in a little under a weeks’ time, on Oct 15th.

You’ll explore five distinct and dangerous areas, you’ll solve cryptic puzzles and survive hazardous environments and powerful bosses, all while you rescue a friendly tribe of mining inhabitants known as the Wozan. Outbuddies promises to both challenge and satisfy the player, with its retro visual appeal and great soundtrack.

Grow your mobility and skills with upgraded gear found throughout the many deadly areas. Make friends with the woeful Wozan, because when the chips are down, you’re newly freed friends will show up to help you defeat the tremours of the deep. Just be sure to watch out for the lethal hidden rooms that trap you in for the fight of your life as hoards of Old Ones do their best to make sure you won’t leave alive!
