One Click Equipping?

Gamer asks about the option of equipping any combination in one click:

…The picture I’ve always had of my character was a ranger who could pick off enemies at a distance with his bow and then drop that bow and hack the remainders to pieces with his 2 scimitars when the enemies got closer…However, in BG and BG2 this wasn’t easily possible since you can’t equip your bow as a quick-slot item if you’re using a weapon in your off-hand (well, in BG2 anyways – BG1 didn’t have dual-wielding of course). So my question is this – anyone heard whether it will be possible to more easily switch from bow to 2-weapons?

We are still implementing the weapon equiping system, so I can’t really say. Ultimately we’d like to be able to replace both weapons with a two handed weapon, but we probably can’t support quickslot equipping two weapons with one click.

So basically they are looking at being able to go from two weapons to one bow from your quickslots in one action, going the other way will require two actions as you are dealing with two objects in two separate slots.
