nV Crowned Halo Fall Season Champions

This weekend the top four teams in North America descended upon the ESL studios in Burbank for pride, bragging rights, and their share of $150,000.Not to mention the prestigious title of Halo Fall Season Champions.

The final four teams that made it to the fall finals were Str8 Rippin, EnVyUs, Liquid and the regular juggernauts OpTic gaming. With OpTic setting a pace rarely seen (3-0 in round one in 2:43), they dominated most of their games. While Str8 Rippin was hoping to continue their lucky streak nV quickly took over and wrapped the series up.

Finals would be the main attraction of the day, with an NV team designed to dethrone OpTic gaming, and dethrone it did. OpTic is undefeated on LAN and nV is undefeated against OpTic across all Pro League matchups. The gunfights in the first two games were enough for these teams to put out a solid set of mini-montages for their media channels.

With two Best of 7s coming, nV had to hit the ground running, taking the first two rounds of CTF and Slayer. OpTic answered with a strong showing on Rig Strongholds, holding nV to only 18 points. nV rebounded, taking the series 4-2.

Entering the second series, OpTic and nV split the two opening games, trading them all the way to a winner takes all game 7 on one of my all time favorite maps, Truth. nV and OpTic started close, but nV’s rising star Cuyley “Huke” Garland swung the momentum in EnVyUs’s favor and they finished strong with a 50-36 win. This rising star helped hold mid points and was an absolute asset to EnVyUs through every stage of the second series. This win dethroned OpTic Gaming and crowned Team EnVyUs as the Halo Fall Season Champions.

The Halo Fall Season Champions have been found, but things rarely stay still in the world on eSports. Stay tuned for more pro gaming news.
