Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate Review

We haven’t seen a review for Ossian’s Mysteries of Westgate for awhile, so I did a bit of searching and dug up a new one over at Digital Battle. The score is a 6/10, with these closing paragraphs:

Technically, the game appears to have taken a step back, as the updates to the engine introduced in the previous expansions are not to be found here at all, and the artistic quality isn’t as good as it could’ve been, as most of the places and dungeons your visit feel extremely trivial. On the plus side, the soundtrack is great and is an all new addition to the series, while the voice acting is on par as well. However, compared to previous NWN games and expansions, Mysteries of Westgate probably has the least spoken dialogue of them all, which means you’ll be doing a lot of reading in order to get all the information.

Nevertheless, the game can be recommended for NWN 2 fans, especially considering the $10 price tag for a game with a good 10 hours of gameplay value (including side quests). The bundled in tools make it possible for users to create their own NWN 2 dungeons and quests, which is only a good thing.
