Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate Review

IGN’s Neverwinter Vault is next in line with an enthusiastic review of Ossian Studios’ Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate adventure pack. The score is 8.64/10, with these closing paragraphs:

Mysteries of Westgate was an extremely enjoyable experience from start to finish. I had a blast trying to save the innocents from the evil crime lords or, alternately, pocketing their valuables before the evil crime lords could show up. All the while I had plenty of time to consider which horrible fate was in store for the party responsible for saddling me with that cursed mask.

MoW never falls into the trap of trying to take itself too seriously. Despite the underlying solemnity of the setting and story, occasional well-timed comic relief strikes a perfect balance. Ossian didn’t forget that, in the end, the ultimate goal of a game is to entertain. I daresay they hit their mark dead center.
