Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer – Matt Chat

The previous episode of Matt Barton’s Matt Chat show was dedicated to Obsidian Entertainment’s Neverwinter Nights 2, and the new one follows that up with a 2-hour long review of the game’s Mask of the Betrayer expansion. Some people, myself included, consider this expansion to be one of the all-time best story-driven RPGs, right up there with Planescape: Torment, and as such, this new episode is definitely worth your attention. This episode covers one of the most celebrated game narratives of CRPGs, and it’s not even a standalone game: Mask of the Betrayer for Neverwinter Nights 2. It really is an intricately woven story whose threads never get tangled up in a mess. Instead, we get a beautifully coherent story and theme, memorable characters who all have something deeply meaningful to contribute to it, and great music to boot.
