Narcos: Rise of the Cartels Announced

For fans of the popular Netflix show Narcos, you’ll be very pleased to know that Curve Digital and Kuju are joining forces to bring you the video game adaptation Narcos: Rise of the Cartels, on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch & PC during quarter 4, 2019, and available for pre-order today.

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is a turn-based strategy game based on the Netflix series, Narcos produced by Gaumont. Reliving events during the first season, Narcos: Rise of the cartels, gives you the chance to play as either the Medellin Cartel or the DEA. With El Patrón’s influence spreading rapidly, with near uncontrollable crime and corruption, America starts to notice. But do you help the drug empire rise even higher under the watchful eye of El Patrón’s, or do you join with Steve Murphy of the DEA and try to topple the empire.

If you want to take a look at the two sides now, take a look at the two ‘Choose Your Side’ trailers. Who will you side with, the Narcos…

…or the DEA?

With locations and characters taken directly from the series, players will get the chance to play with characters such as as El Mexicano, Murphy, and Peña, Primo. Each character with their own unique abilities and perks that can mean the difference between winning and losing. Whichever side you choose you will take a pivotal role in the events that influenced the war on drugs.

Narcos adds a new twist on the genre, with both sides moving simultaneously, and new mechanics that allow the player to take direct control over their own units. Create your team from a variety of roles, upgrade them and they’ll help you achieve your goals, though remember, every action could have big consequences.

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is coming digitally to PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in late 2019 with a physical release launching in Q4 2019, available for pre-order at retailers starting today.
