More Fallout: New Vegas DLC This Year, Bethesda Mum on Exclusivity

In a brief teaser from an upcoming interview with Bethesda’s Pete Hines, VG247 reveals the company’s plans for more Fallout: New Vegas DLC this year – though they still won’t confirm that Dead Money (or any of the future addons) will be coming to more platforms than just the Xbox 360.

(Oh absolutely,) said the company’s VP of PR and marketing when asked if we could expect more packs in 2011.

(I don’t think we’ve ever had a product where we said, ‘˜Yeah, we’re just gonna do one DLC pack and that’s all she wrote.’ We like to support our products. We like to do a good job of that, and I don’t think putting out one DLC pack would reach that.

(I would say you can probably look for other stuff from us down the road.)

Dead Money, the only pack now available for the game, is currently an Xbox Live exclusive.

When asked if Dead Money would eventually make its way to PS3 and PC as did all the DLC for Fallout 3 in an almost identical situation Hines remained coy.

He said: (I think we’ll probably just have to wait and see. I wouldn’t want to say anything more then that.

(Right now, it’s exclusive to 360. That’s the only place you can get it. I’m not going to comment on other platforms.)

Microsoft obviously paid a significant sum for the exclusivity, but who really wins here? Is the extra money really worth angering your PC and PS3 fanbase?
