Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition Announced

Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition has been announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and PS Vita. The enhanced version of 2014’s Mercenary Kings launches February 6th with new content, a massive rebalance and a number of improvements and additions to the action platformer. Furthermore, it will be released as a free update for people who already own the base game.

In the press release, Montreal-based independent developer Tribute Games state that Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition will include new gun parts, knives, and improvements to mission objectives and the minimap. It also adds two new characters:

  • Frigg is a resistance fighter who has joined the Mercenary Kings to fight the forces of CLAW. No matter which weapon she carries, Frigg can jump faster than any other Kings thanks to her Olympic training!
  • C-Zar is a friendly automaton built by the Kings’ communication expert Miss Zero. His state-of-the-art feet thrusters allow him to slow down his falls so he can get a strategic drop on CLAW troops!

The game’s release on Vita is surprising, as it was originally announced for the system back in 2014. The devs have reiterated their commitment to the port multiple times since, but the long wait definitely had fans worried that it would never see the light of day. Long live the Vita Island, I say.
