MemoryWars – A TinyWars Mini-Game Release

Do you remember a few weeks back, we at the ZombieChimp wrote a piece on Tiny Wars developed by Bizurk Software? It’s an anime themed tower defense game that proved to be rather tricky in the early prototype of the game. If you fancy a recap you can read all about it here.

What are they doing now? Well they’re expanding Tiny Wars by looking at the narrative and giving it a bit of a nitro-boost. So expect more story and cut-scenes before they’re finished. Not to mention some interface enhancements, but you may have to wait a few more days to see these changes as the Tiny Wars Prototype final update is due later this month.

Anyway, while Tiny Wars stampeded its way through development, the devs started experimenting.

They didn’t try to build a real life human from body parts or harness the power of lightning. Oh no, instead as a break from Tiny Wars they started looking at the various parts of the game design such as collectibles, and virtual currency, and while playing around they found they’d created a rather enjoyable memory card-based mini-game.

‘The purpose of creating MemoryWars was so that we could exercise our programming skills over New Year’s.’ explain developers Bizurk Software. ‘We wanted to get our feet wet with a few other projects, and building out an experimental mini-game was the most appropriate option.’

Rather than keep this serendipitous plaything all to themselves Bizurk Software have released it as a mini-game, under the title MemoryWars, but what exactly is it?

Memory Wars is a memory matching card game but there is something a little different served up with this. Not only do you have to match cards over 12 levels, but there’s a Lucky Card based reward system, Health Points, special cards, boss fights and insane levels as well.

What’s your reward? Well, as you play you earn in-game tokens that can be used to collect cards based on Tiny Wars characters.

“Ah, this is all well and good” I hear you thinking “but how much is this “experiment” going to cost me?”

Well, that’s the best part. You can get your hands on MemoryWars now for exactly zero pounds, nil dollars and budkiss cents. All from the Google Play store. So you can all get your eager little mitts on it to give it a go. Providing you have an Android device of course.
