Larian’s RPG Player Survey Results

Not so long ago, the folks at Larian Studios have polled nearly 15.5k RPG players to find out which aspects of RPGs they liked most, and now they’ve published the results in a colorful 19-page PDF file filled with graphs and pie charts.

To give you a general idea of the survey respondents’ leanings, most of them seem to enjoy story-rich isometric cRPGs with turn-based combat and intricate character progression that’s 40 to a 100+ hours long. That last part makes sense, considering that most of the people who participated in the survey have seemingly neglected to play any game other than The Witcher 3, with some honorary mentions going to the original two Fallouts and Baldur’s Gates, as well as Larian’s own Divinity: Original Sin.

The survey also offers some insights into the general demographics of Larian’s audience, allowing you to engage in some real-life roleplaying as the Big Brother.

Then, there are the surprises, like, for example, Larian’s audience not being very much into co-op experiences, but I’ll let you explore those on your own.
