Jeremy Soule Interview

RPGVault has posted up an interview with Jeremy Soule, the composer whose works include Icewind Dale, Heart of Winter, Dungeon Siege, and many more. Here’s a quick take:

Jonric: Was there anything that particularly attracted you toward composing for games, and what are some of the different types of games you’ve composed for to date?

Jeremy Soule: When I first started playing computer games, I saw an opportunity to bring grand-scale music to these increasingly sophisticated interactive platforms. In my mind, the visual experience was incomplete without an equally intense audio experience. I knew what could be done with the right equipment and vision so, my brother Julian and I formed Soule Media, a complete audio post-production solution. We have several sound designers and programmers who work around the clock producing all aspects of sound for television, film and interactive games. We’ve worked on everything from children’s projects like Mattel’s Rugrats to RPGs including Interplay’s Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Unreal II from Epic Games and Legend Entertainment, Cavedog’s Total Annihilation, and Azurik by Adrenium Games for Microsoft’s XBox.
